About 2 miles northwest from our church, Ray Stedman was a senior pastor at Penisula Bible Church (he passed away like 20+ years ago).  Many Christians don't know pastor Stedman because he was such a humble person, but his name is listed in many important evangelical gathering of the 20th century.  In fact, he was mentor to many evangelical leaders including Chuck Swindoll. He was the type of pastor who work behind the spotlight tirelessly to make other pastors look.

In our church Discpleship Training class, we need to memorize Eph. 4:13 (it was an absolutely joy).  Ray Stedman's preaching on the passage really helped me understand what the goal and maturity means to the church.  I pray that it will help you as well.
