YM Status for 2009 – 2010 School Year

YM consists of youth in 6th grade (middle school) to 12th grade (high school).

I.  Breakdown of YM (2009 – 2010 school year)

• Total of 81 youth registered for 2009 – 2010 school year.
• Total of 8 teachers committed for 2009 – 2010 school year.  Of which 4 are new YM teachers:  Miss Janice, Mr. Moon, Mr. Isaac and Munsun JDSN.
• First official class for 2009 – 2010 school year started on 9/6.
  • Attendance:  9/6 = 57, 9/13 = 59

II.  Road Mapping 2009 – 2010

• Knowledge of Jesus Christ & Faith Tenants
  • Read Word – daily devotions campaign to start soon
  • How to study Word
  • Systematic Study – Continue to study through book of Colossians.  Baptist Faith and Message – to launch sermon series on November 1 (target)
• Word in Action
  • Daily Devotions – daily devotions campaign to start [assistance from parents requested]
    • Shared with letter to parents (9/13)
    • Launch target (9/27)
  • Spiritual Gifts Assessment & Placement
    • Youth Servant Leadership – started in August, all youth to be involved in serving the church in groups organized and mobilized by youth.  Groups consists of:
      • Prayer
      • Welcoming
      • Sports
      • Community Service
      • Facebook/Communications

Met their respective teacher support last week (9/13) to provide adult guidance

  • Registration = in progress to get updated roster
• 9/6 First Official Class – meet and greet (done)
• Open House
  • Rescheduled to 9/20
  • Announced to KM & will email letter in English and Korean (pending)
• Friday Night Meetings
  • Slowly picking up momentum; may change dates to Saturdays to accommodate school activities and promote greater attendance [would appreciate feedback concerning change]
• Sermon Series – next few Sundays, finishing up Colossians
  • 9/20 - Col 2:1-5  small group – none; Open House
  • 9/27 – Col 2:6-23 
  • 10/4 – Col 3:1-16 
  • 10/11 – Col 3:17-Col 4:1
