NCBC YM The WAY Newsletter May 2015
Hello The WAY parents,I was bedridden for several days following my surgery on anal fistula on last Tuesday.(The surgery went well. Please pray for me for a quick recovery and a complete healing and also that I don't have the Crohn's Disease.)It's rare for me and PJamie to stay home rather than finding ourselves in church and/or working on our ministry.I didn't expect that I would be out that long with such condition because last time I had the same surgery (which was on a Friday) I came out to church in less than three days and got back to my normal routine of being a pastor. It wasn't easy being confined at home and being so handicapped. Thankfully, I've (re-)gained something that is so essential and precious for my spiritual life - the intimacy with the Lord. While I was bedridden basically the entire last week I found myself immersing in God's word and seeking His voice, not out of my ministry/pastoral duty, but because of my genuine desire to be in the presence of the Lord. Since I started preaching for Thursday morning worship beginning this year I realized that I was keeping up with my devotional life so that I would be ready to preach from the given passage on Thursdays. However, throughout last week I was able to just sit before God's word and let it speak to me, teach me, nourish me, and draw me closer to the Lord. How sweet those hours were to me!Being a Christian for a some time there are times when we are just going through the motions. Some of us might have forgotten our first love. Some of us might have lost the passion and desire. Some of us might have become lukewarm. These are sad realities of our spiritual condition. But, the truest reality of all is that God is still STILL faithful in His love and grace for His children. My humble advice and encouragement for all of us is to take a break from whatever we do in life and go sit before the Lord and just enjoy His presence. Like Mary in Luke 10.Psalm 145:8-9The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. 시편 145:8-9여호와는 은혜로우시며 긍휼이 많으시며 노하기를 더디 하시며 인자하심이 크시도다여호와께서는 모든 것을 선대하시며 그 지으신 모든 것에 긍휼을 페푸시는도다What's happening:FNF (Friday Night Fellowship)*Please send your child to our FNF for time of sharing lives and relationship building. 6:30~7:20 Dinner7:20~8:15 Small Group8:15~9:30 Weekly Activity5/1 - May Birthday Celebration5/8 - Mother's Day Flower Making5/15 - Play Night5/22 - Praise and Prayer Night with the EM5/29 - No FNFSunday Worship and Small Group Ministry*We are currently in a curriculum called "Follow Me" by David Platt which will go until the end of this Month.Update on Middle School and High School Separation For the past few Sundays (except this past Sunday) we have separated the two groups. The transition worked out more smoothly than we anticipated. The students were much cooperative. The upper nursery room was easily packed with the middle schoolers, but not too uncomfortable. Lacking a sound system could be a downturn. Since it was a smaller crowd it was easier to engage the students during our message.4/26 - Follow Me (1) - The Call5/3 - Follow Me (2) - Be Transformed5/10 - Follow Me (3) - Delight in God5/17 - Follow Me (4) - God's Will For Your Life5/24 - Follow Me (5) - The Church5/31 - Follow Me (6) - Our MissionRoad to Discipleship (R2DII) (제자양육)We have successfully completely both of our classes - R2DII - Multiply Journey 1 & R2DII - D.F.D.Thank you all for your prayers and support.
