    ChrisJul 22.2017 JAPAN // DAY 12-14
LONG TIME NO UPDATE! 7/23/2017   We've been really busy and haven't posted in a long time but we back we back okay okay   Thursday and Friday were just usual days of English Camp and VBS but on Friday there was the weekly Shopping Day for the kids to buy toys and candies with their tickets they get throughout the week from the activities and classes.    Missionary Kang and their family treated our team and Irvine Bethel out to a shabu shabu/sushi buffet dinner on Thursday Night. It was sooooo good and we got to spend more time to bond with the team and rest and prepare for the next day. Sadly, we didn't take any pictures of the dinner ): After Friday's English Camp and VBS, we went out to Ikebukuro where we went sightseeing and shopping!    Carol helping with Friday's craft: PRAYER BOX!    Minhee helping a student with her prayer box!     Teacher Candice of Irvine Bethel praying with Julie (4th grade) about her prayer requests!     The team at Ikebukuro station!     On Saturday, we spent the day resting and we got to go to an onsen which is a Japanese Hot Springs and spa. After a long week's worth of work, we got to just relax with traditional Japanese kimonos, good food, and great fellowship!   Japanese soba - just one of the many foods at the spa!     Afterwards, we all came back to prepare for Sunday Worship tomorrow and also for next week's VBS for Ryugasaki Church!   PRAYER REQUESTS: 1. Ryugasaki Church: On Monday we will be heading out to Ryugasaki and meeting up with the rest of the team on Tuesday! Please pray for Pastor Cho, who is recovering and for the team to be unified once we all get together because there will be many people who don't even know each other and many of them coming straight from Korea. Pray for safe travels and team unity! 2. Sunday Worship: Tomorrow's Sunday Worship will be a little different and we will be expecting a lot more people to be attending this week so we pray that God will work through this Sunday Service to touch the hearts of those who do not yet believe and for God to use Pastor Kang and our team as vessels for His Word to be preached.  3. Tokyo Vision Church: As our time in Higashikurume and at Tokyo Vision Church comes to a close within the next few days, please keep Missionary Kang, their family, and their ministry in your prayers. Many kids and parents have come to Christ through the English Camp and VBS ministry here and we are so honored and thankful to even be a part of it. Pray for perseverance as we finish things in HIgashikurume and go onto Ryugasaki on Monday!    2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. // James 1:2-4   #shintaro #tasukete #typs #wow

    ChrisJul 19.2017 JAPAN // DAY 10-11
MINHEE HAS ARRIVED!    Thank you for your prayers for Minhee for she has arrived safely and thankfully not sick or unhealthy in any way! PTL~ Minhee arrived at around 1:30 AM while everyone was sleeping but joined us for 7 AM QT the next morning -- SO HOLY!   On Tuesday, we had a regular day of English Camp and VBS from the morning to late afternoon. It rained REALLY hard and there was a thunderstorm so we got stuck inside for a few hours after VBS was over. When the weather cleared up a little, we spent the majority of the day resting and team bonding with Irvine Bethel Church!   On Wednesday, we had English Camp and VBS as usual. Something different we did today was go out and do Street Evangelism! We went to the local subway station and passed out these 'Christian mangas' (Japanese comics) for people to read and learn about the Bible! Even though many people passed by and rejected our evangelistic efforts, we have faith that The Holy Spirit will move in these Japanese people in it's own timing and for the people who took our mangas, we believe that God will work in those booklets to reach out to these people. Our hearts break for this nation as only less than 1% of the population consider themselves Christian and so we ask that you continue to pray that God will shine His light onto dark Japan through missionaries and through little Christian mangas.   Minhee teaching Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, and Math in the Summer Camp!     Carol playing with the kids in a game during the VBS time!     Minhee helping kids during the snack craft.     2nd grader Shoumei and his snack craft of made up constellations - he made a cross!     Minhee and Carol passing out the christian mangas.     Teacher Judy, Leader for Irvine Bethel Church, evangelizing to an interested elderly man.     PRAYER REQUESTS: 1. Street Evangelism: Today will not be the only time we go out to evangelize to people so we ask for constant strength and boldness as we share even the tiniest bit of the Gospel to anyone. 2. Pastor Cho of Ryugasaki Church: We will be going to Ryugasaki Church next week to meet up with the rest of the team but Pastor Cho of that church as many may or may not know went through a tough time last year and needs to get treatment and other things for it this weekend so pray that he will rest well after his treatment. 3. Team Unity: Now that Minhee is here, pray that us 3 will be unified and get to serve the people of Japan together at our fullest. Also pray that our team unity with Irvine Bethel Church will be firm so that we can be one body of Christ serving with one heart for the Gospel.   Everything is going great and we appreciate all of your prayers!    #shintaro #tasukete #typs #onegaishimasu

(Sorry for the late posting.  The internet is almost impossible to log on here.)   On Sunday, July 2nd, 16 YM youth, and their parents gathered at church at 4:50am for early morning Sunday worship before heading out at 5:40am to Ensenada, Mexico.  Please keep them in mind and prayers until their return. The whole family.   We stopped in Buena Park, Orange County in LA, to pick up 3 additional youth and grab lunch.  The 3 musketeers waiting for lunch.   Lunch is here!   The whole 19 YM youth heading down to Mexico mission trip this year.   After a whold day of driving, we arrived safely in Yugo Ministries Ensenada Campus around 6pm.   We gathered to give thanks for the safe arrival and meet the family that we will be doing Construction Ministry to.  This year's team will be extending their house, and the other half of team will be doing VBS.         Afterwards, we unloaded and then headed for dinner.  3 of the youth had a very mild case of allergy to food, "mole" that was served...nothing serious, but ask that you will lift a prayer for the team's continued safety until our return.   After dinner, we gathered for 8pm worship at the chapel.  Every year, YUGO offers a different theme.  This year's theme is "El Camino" ("The way" in John 14:6...how appropriate for our youth whose name is "The WAY").     After worship, we gathered for debriefing and prayer before heading to prepare for tomorrow, and bed for the night.  Half of the team will be on Construction ministry while the other half will be on VBS tomorrow.
