Today's devotional is 2 Chronicles 4:1 - 5:1   Today's memory verses are: 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 Lamentations 3:22-23   We woke up early at Forever Praise Evangelical Church and enjoyed the scenery before beginning the day.   Love :-)       We worshipped together and then converted the sanctuary for our medical and dental teams.         During the setup, some curious kids got a surprise hug!       A few blocks away, along the waters edge, we set up TKD and VBS. Despite being hot and windy, the children enjoyed spending time with us.         The wind made it difficult for the younger kids to hang onto their stickers.       Back at the church, we helped a lot of patients, and prayed with them too.         We did not want to go, but eventually it was time to get back on the boat and sail back to SICAP. We will miss all of you, but hope to come back again!           Our two-day excursion to Tagapul-an Island was spiritually uplifting, but physically strenous. Today's memory verse from Lamentations reminds us that God's love is always with us and that He will reveal His glory to us everyday without fail.    "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23   여호와의 인자와 긍휼이 무궁하시므로 우리가 진멸되지 아니함이니이다  이것들이 아침마다 새로우니 주의 성실하심이 크시도소이다  - 예레미야애가 3:22-23   Lastly, Will and Michelle left for home today. Today's devotional was 2 Chronicles 5:2-14   The memory verse was Ecclesiastes 12:31   Today was epic. We took buses to a nearby barangay named Cag-olango. It was the first time we ran the full program, including the Sin Chair skit. What made the venue wonderful was that it was large enough to house everyone. This gave team members the opportunity to join different programs if they had free time.   Thank you to all the people who contributed their photos!   As you can see, the venue was very big and we were able to accommodate many people.       Pastor Yohan flew his drone and the children loved it.       Some members of the medical and dental teams finally got a chance to dance with the kids! Even me :-)       Sometimes we danced when we had a free moment.       Pastor Son learning the dance moves on the fly!       Pastor Raymond gave the children the Paralytic and The Four Friends sermon...this time with a full cast of actors. The children hung on Pastor Raymond's every word.         Pro tip: Always stay hydrated.       The barangay captain (village leader) graciously opened his house to us for lunch.       As usual, we thank the tireless efforts of our wonderful SICAP volunteers!       The Sin Chair skit was very popular.       We feel love everywhere we go, but today was special. The cheers were louder, and the hugs were overwhelming (in a good way). The children were so full of joy and it was contagious!     A lot of us are fighting off small injuries and illness. Me and a few others are nursing a cough. Others hurt their legs, feet, or other parts of their body. But God has been gracious: everyone has felt strong enough to serve everyday. Our prayer request is for God to continue to watch over us and cover us with his healing power. Big thanks to Dr. Kim and Dr. Julia for tending to our ailments. Big thanks also to the ladies who distribute Airborne, vitamins, etc. to the team everyday!       After dinner Ruth SMN surprised Brother Matt with a birthday cake. Happy Birthday Matt!       Pastor closed the night with his thoughts regarding today's devotional passage. To summarize: God is the creator of all, so he does not need our time and money. What God wants is our hearts.     Pastor Son's words may not exactly follow our memory verse today, but one thing that relates the two is that God wants our hearts. Once we give God our hearts then obedience comes naturally. We trust Him and know that nothing can be better than His plan for us.   "The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." - Ecclesiastes 12:13   Tomorrow is our last full day in the Philippines. Today’s devotional was 2 Chronicles 3:1-17.  The memory verse was Micah 6:8.  We sailed three hours west to visit two barangays (villages) in Tagapul-An Island.               A storm was forecasted for the area, but praise the Lord, He made the waters calm. The sea breeze gave us a break from the warm humidity we experienced back at SICAP.                   TKD practice :-)   We arrived at Pantalan Barangay...     ...and for the first time our program included TKD and VBS.               The children really enjoyed Pastor Raymond acting out all the parts of  the parable of the paralytic and his four friends! Then came games and lots of balloons animals.                       In a nearby two-story building, the medical and dental ministries worked together.   After less than three hours we had to get back on the boat to sail to the second barangay.           We docked at dusk and headed over to Forever Praise Evangelical Church to spend the night.         Today’s memory verse is a reminder that obedience to God doesn’t start and end with a missions trip. Obedience should be a constant in our daily life.    “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” - Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬   사람아 주께서 선한 것이 무엇임을 네게 보이셨나니 여호와께서 네게 구하시는 것은 오직 정의를 행하며 인자를 사랑하며 겸손하게 네 하나님과 함께 행하는 것이 아니냐 -미가 6:8   Tomorrow will be another busy day. Hello Church! This is Myron again reporting on the Philippines Mission trip. This was our first morning in Samar and the place looks beautiful!     Today was Sunday, so we dressed for church service.     The day began with group quiet time: Devotional: 2 Chronicles 2:1-18 Memory verses: Proverbs 16:3,9 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18             We then ate delicious chicken porridge for breakfast.   We were split into six groups, each with a SICAP student guide, and sent off to attend six different churches in the nearby city of Calbayog. But before we left, Pastor Daniel and Ruth Kim gave us some helpful tips and a quick lesson on Waray, the indigenous language of this area.     Brother Sean’s team sang Malaya for their church!     Diulie’s team attended Christian Life Center.       Michelle’s team also had a rewarding time worshipping with another church.       Lastly, Will’s team went to New Life Calbayog.Their main praise team was away, so the youth stepped up and lead the congregation.       The rest of the day was spent on providing care for the community. We first took their vitals and triaged them.                       Some wanted us to pray with them...             Some sought medical attention...                                         Some sought dental care...                                       Many received medicine...       All needed the grace of God. Nearly 100 people came because they were broken in some way, physically and spiritually. Please pray that God will place His healing hands on them. Please pray for them to seek a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.       I also want to thank the incredibly gifted SICAP student volunteers who helped translate and keep everything running smoothly.         The day was long and at times we felt vulnerable to spiritual attacks. But we have nothing to fear because God is with us and He has already plotted the course for us.   “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” -Proverbs‬ ‭16:3, 9‬   3 너의 행사를 여호와께 맡기라 그리하면 네가 경영하는 것이 이루어지리라 9 사람이 마음으로 자기의 길을 계획할지라도 그의 걸음을 인도하시는 이는 여호와시니라 - 잠언 16:3, 9   We will be taking a four-hour boat ride tomorrow to continue our medical mission. This is Myron from EM and I am using brother Sean's account to post mission news!   The team is so excited to go to the Philippines! One last Seung Joo Chan before we leave!     We flew from San Francisco to Incheon then to Manila and finally to Tocloban City.  A journey of almost an entire day!                 Throughout the day we prayed for God's grace and protection.           We had lots of time to study our memory verses: Romans 8:11, Proverbs 1:7, 2 Corinthians 12:9.  We also meditated on Romans, Acts, and Philippians.                           We even got a chance to practice our VBS dances!       We had some difficulty getting everyone to the last flight, but through prayer and God's amazing mercy we made it in time.           Once we arrived in Tacloban City, we hopped on a van and drove for over three hours.  We used the time to share and bond.  And we also practiced our VBS songs.     We finally arrived!  We were treated to amazing mangoes and spent some time in prayer and praise.         Our bodies are weary from the long travel, but our spirit grows stronger as we prepare to do God’s work. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  -2 Corinthians 12:9   나에게 이르시기를 내 은혜가 네게 족하도다 이는 내 능력이 약한 데서 온전하여짐이라 하신지라 그러므로 도리어 크게 기뻐함으로 나의 여러 약한 것들에 대하여 자랑하리니 이는 그리스도의 능력이 내게 머물게 하려 함이라.  -고린도후서 12:9 Tomorrow we will split into teams and attend six different churches to give testimony and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. 하루의 시작은 기도모임으로…  오늘은 시골 동네로 사역을 들어가는 관계로 그들과 같은 옷을 입고 가기로 해서 목사님과 자매님들이 어제 각자 구입한 인도 전통옷을 입고 사역을 시작합니다. 옷 잘들 어울리죠?   그동안 사진을 올리지 못했었는데... 성도님들이 싸주신 밑반찬을 매일 잘먹고 있습니다.  밑반찬때문에 인도음식을 계속 먹어도 아직까지는 질리지가 않네요..     오늘은 3군데의 사역지를 돌아야 해서 아침 일찍부터 준비했습니다. 알라하바드에 있는 시골동네로 워낙 교통환경이 좋지않아 이동시간이 많이 걸립니다. 3시간정도 차를 타고첫번째로 도착한곳은 사히비사라는 3~4천명정도의 마을입니다. 크리스쳔이 2-30명정도 된다고 합니다. 이곳은 소똥을 말려 땔깜으로 쓰기도 하고 내다 팔아서 생활비를 마련하기도 한다고 하네요.   저희가 교통체증으로 1시간정도 늦게 도착하였는데 옷을 잘 차려입고 오랫동안 저희를 기다리고 있었습니다. 교회는 건물도 없고 맨땅에서 천막만 치고 예배를 드리는 곳 그러나 이 삭막한 곳에서도 주님의 말씀이 선포될 수 있다는 사실 하나만으로도 감격의 눈물을 흘리지 않을 수 없었습니다.     찬양과 함께 손목사님이 말씀을 증거하셨습니다.       예배후에 저희가 가지고간 Solar Lamp를 전달해 드리고..   찬양에 박수치고 말씀에 집중해 듣는 모습이     아픈아이들을 위한 기도   오늘 두군데 더 남은 사역지때문에 아쉬운 작별을 하고 떠나는데 차까지 배웅나오는 동네 아이들과 어른들… 너무 짧은 시간이어서 안타까웠습니다. 혹시 다시오게 되면 몇일간의 여름성경학교를 하면 딱 좋겠다는 생각이 듭니다.        오늘 두번째 사역지는 순따르 라는 곳으로 이곳에는 인도에서 가장 낮은 계급인 천민들이 모여 사는 곳입니다. 나뭇잎으로 스넼 그릇을 만들어 팔아 하루에 30루피(50센트) 정도를 버는 걸로 생활한다고 하네요. 그러나 이것 마져 요즘은 값싼 플라스택 그릇들 때문에 힘들다고 합니다. 이곳은 많은 아이들과 어른들이 크리스쳔이어서 비록 가장낮은 계급이지만 그들의 표정만은 매우 밝은 곳입니다. 동네도 다른데 보다는 더 잘 정리되어 있고..   찬양과 율동후에 장정하자매님의 간증이 있었습니다.     그리고 새누리 성도님들이 도네이션한 옷들이 이곳 아이들에게 전해주고... 옷이 모잘랐었습니다. 더 많이 가지고 갔었으면 좋았을텐데.. 또 이번에 무슨옷이 필요한지도 알게되었네요.. 다음에 올땐 더 잘 준비해서 올 수 있을것 같습니다.     몸이 약한 두 아이들을 위해서 중보기도 하고..   헤어짐의 아쉬움..     우리가 떠나는 것을 아쉬워하며 그들.. 손목사님께서 열심히 성경읽고 기도 하라고 하니까 한 학생이 우리가 다시 오게 해달라고 기도 한다고 하네요…   역시 떠날때는 아쉬워서 차까지 따라 나오는 아이들…             오늘의 마지막

 피곤했던 둘째날을 우리 모두를 깨운것은 새벽부터 동네 스피커를 통해서  나오는 무슬렘의 기도소리였습니다. 하루에 다섯번씩 정해진 시간에 온 도시 전체에 울려퍼지는 기도 소리... 밖에 나가서 스피커선을 잘라 버리고 싶은 생각이 들 정도로 거슬리는 주문 소리를 매일 매일 듣고 살아야하는 이곳의 사람들이 안타까울 뿐입니다.  한편으로는 우상을 숭배하는 저들도 이렇게 기도하는 데 참 주님을 믿는 우리는 그들보다 더 기도해야 하지 않을까라는 생각도 해 봅니다. 기도제목이 있을때만 하는 기도가 아니라 모든것을 주신 주님께 항상 기도해야 겟다고 다짐해 봅니다.   "항상 기뻐하라 쉬지 말고 기도하라 범사에 감사하라 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라" (살전 5:16-18)   둘째날 사역은 어제 도착하여 사역을 시작했던 스리나가르(Srinagar) 에서 계속하였습니다. 스리나가르는 카시미르주의 주 수도로서 파키스탄과는 매우 가까운 지역입니다.      날씨가 영하를 오르내리락하고 난방시설이 잘 되지 않은 지역이라 두꺼운 옷을 다 입고 잠을 자야하는 곳입니다. 두쨋날의 꽉 짜여진 일정을 소화하느라 아침 일찍 일어나 큐티와 기도로 하루를 무장하는게 필수 인것 같습니다.    오늘은 특히 미국에서 들려오는 몇가지 기도 제목을 추가로 놓고 기도하였습니다. 정경돈형제의 위암수술과 회복, 대장암수술울 앞두고 있는 Ken 성도님, 아버님의하늘나라에 보내신 오전도사님과 가정의 위로를 위해서 선교팀 모두 합심기도 하였습니다. 선교지에서 힘이되는 것은 기도가 최고인것 같네요.   하루종일 무슬렘과 힌두교를 믿는 사람들을 만나고 무슬람 무스크와 힌두사원을 방문하는것은 영적으로 무장을 하지 않으면 영적 육적으로 매우 힘든 것을 모두 느꼈습니다.     처음으로 인도식으로 하는 아침식사... 다행이 다들 음식이 입에 잘 맛는 음식이어서 맛있게 잘 먹었는데요.. 김Jenna 자매와 김성철형제는 음식이 너무 맞아서 인도장기선교를 고려해 봐야 할것 이라고 다들 건의하시네요... 특히 김성철형제는 겉으로도 인도사람들과 너무 잘 어울려서 적격이라는 장자매의 의견도 있었는데요.... 거기에 손목사님은 제가 네팔에서 온 형제같다는 말씀도 거들어 주셨습니다(인도북부에는 네팔에서 온 사람들이 꽤 있다고 합니다).  글쎄 칭찬인지 아닌지 모르겠네..   손목사님 옆에계시는 분은 카시미르지역 사역을 안내해주신 김선생님 이십니다..     오늘 하루도 승리하신 주님을 찬양하며 일정을 시작했습니다... 겉으로는 주님이 승리하심을 느끼지 못할것 같지만 곳곳에서 느껴지는 주님의 일하심을 고백하지 않을 수 없네요..       카시미르 지역에도 교회가 있습니다.. Srinagar의 유일한 교회... All Saints Church!   보자마자 감격의 눈물이 주르르 흐르네요!   영국식민 시절에 세워진 교회로 여러번의 환란속에서도 굳굳히 서있는 주님의 교회! 여러번 무슬렘의 화재로 손상 되었었지만 계속 복구되어 이매마른 지역에서도 주님을 찬양하고 예배하고 있는 이 교회  몇년전만해도 카시미르인들이 여러명 있었고 지역 주민들을 대상으로 성경공부와 세례도 주었었는데 그 사실이 무슬렘에게 알려져서 살인 협박과 정부의 간섭으로 이제는 현지인들은 같이 예배드리기가 힘들게 되었다고 합니다. 이 일 때문에 순교한 교인도 2명이나 되고 다른 카시미르 성도들은 환란을 피해 다른곳으로 다 떠났다는 안타까운 사연을 안내 해 주시는 선생님께 들으며 목숨을 걸고 주님을 따르는 성도님들을 생각해보며 저의 믿음이 부끄럽움을 느낌니다.  지금은 외국인들 외주로 예배를 드리고 카시미르인 교인은 안타깝게 단 한명만 있다고 하네요     지금도 항상 위협이 있어서 교회 정문을 군인들이 지키고 있습니다. 그런데 무슬렘군인들 일텐데도 불구하고 저희를 반갑게 맞아주네요. 이럴때는 왜 이렇게 종교문제로 전쟁이나 테러가 일어나는지 이해가 안되기도 합니다. 무슬렘군인이 교회를 보호해 준다??   저희가 주는 캔디도 주져하지 않고 받는 군인들. 미국에서 온 한국 크리스쳔임을 알고도.. 이런때는 왜 종교때문에 전쟁이 일어나고 사람이 죽는지 이해가 되지 않습니다. 그들이 진정으로 그리스도의 사랑은 안다면무엇이 문제가 될까요? 혹시 우상숭배자들의 본인들 만을 위한 아집 또는 고집 때문에 변화되지 않는게 아닐까 하는 생각도 해 봅니다.     이 교회 목사님은 출타중이었고 이교회를 위해서 오랜세월 굳건히 서 있는 이 교회를 통하여 이 카시미르지역이 모든 우상들이 물러가고 주님이 주가 되심을 이지역 모든 사람들이 알고 주님께 예배드리는 그날이 속히 오기를 위하여 무릎꿀고 기도 드렸습니다.    또 이교회 목사님이신 Sunny 목사님을 위해서 그리고 목숨을 걸고 이곳에서 예배를 드리는 모든 주님의 자녀들을 주님께서 보호하여 주시도록... 또 지금은 한명밖에 없는 카시미르인 성도가 이 성전을 가득채우로 또 이같은 주님의 교회가 이지역에 계속 세워지기를...   이틀동안 우상숭배의 현장들인  무슬렘과 힌두사원 들을 보면서 힘들었었던 저희가 큰 힘을 이곳에서 얻을 수 있었고 승리하신 주님을 찬양하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 주일에 같이 예배하지 못한 안타까움이 있었기는 했지만...       또 이 교회에서 주님이 아름다운 만남을 허락해 주셨습니다. 이웃나라인 네팔에서 이곳으로 직장때문에 온 젊은 청년이 마침 교회를 방문하여 목사님의 기도를 받기를 원하여 선교팀 모두 이 청년을 위해 기도하였습니다. 또 이 청년이 진정으로 그리스도를 주로 고백하고 믿음으로 성장하여 네팔에 돌아가서 그의 가족과 주위의 모든 사람들 앞에서 자랑스럽게 주님을 증거할수 있도록 합심기도 하였습니다.   이 교회가 앞으로 어떤 고난속에서도 굳건히 서서 이지역의 복음화에 중심이 될 수 있도록 계속 기도 하기로 약속하며...        지난 6월에 이지역에 홍수가 나서 일층이 모두 잠기고 어느속은 이층까지도 물 속에 잠겼었다고 합니다. 벽면에 물이 찾던 흔적을 지금도 볼 수 있는데요... 이지역은 특히 카시미르지역에서도 부유한 층이 살고 있는 지역인데 그들이 이 지역사람들이 죄를 받아서 이렇게 홍수 피해를 받았다고 말을 한다고 하네요....  정말 제 눈에 낀 티를 보지 못하는 그들...   가져간 캔디를 주머니에 가득넣고 만나는 아이를에게 캔디를 전해주고... 많은 사람들을 만나지 못해서 아쉽습니다.   어느 건물들은 무너져 내리기도 하고...   아직도 복구가 안된 건물들이 많았습니다.    이 홍수와 관련하여 안내 하시는 김선생님으로 부터 귀한 간증을 들었는데요... 선교사님이 사시는 건물도 2층까지 물에 잠기었었는데 (다행이 선교사님의 댁은 3층에 있었다고 하네요), 그런데 홍수가 난 그 날에는  일년 365일동안 쉬지 않고 나오던 무슬렘의 기도 소리가 스피커에서 나오지 않았다고 합니다. 선교사님은 기도중에 하나님께서 기도소리를 한번에 막을 수있는 힘이 있으심을 보여주는것 같은 확신이 들면서 하나님이 무슬렘을 없애지 못해서가 아니라 긍휼한 마음으로 그들의 회개를 기다리고 있음을 믿는다는 귀한 간증을 해수셔서 저희 모두 아멘으로 응답하였습니다.         델리로 돌아오기 위해 스리나가르 공항으로 돌아오는 데 다시한번 이곳이 분쟁지역임을 느끼게 합니다.  이곳에 도착할때는 느끼지 못했는데 이곳에서 다른 곳으로 나가는 것은 전세계 어느곳 보다도 까다로운 것 같습니다. 우선 XRAY 짐 검사를 공항밖에서 부터 시작하여 5번을 하고,  남녀모두 온몸을 손으로 다시 3번정도 검사 하고 또 비행기 티켓검사는 10번정도하고 외국인 출입국 서류를 개인 모두가 작성해야하고....  단기선교가 아니라면 기다리고 기다리는 와중에 짜증도 나고 불만이 있을 수도 있었을텐데 선교팀모두 이틀간의 사역을 이곳에서 잘 마치도록 인도하신 주님께 감사드리는 마음으로 기쁘게 델리로 돌아 왔습니다.             내일은 힌두교의 중심지를 방문하는데 선교사님으로 부터 특별히 기도를 단단히 하고 준비하라는 부탁이 있었습니다. 영적으로 단단히 무장하지 않으면 영적, 육적으로 힘들게 될 수가 있다고 하십니다. 팀원 모두 저희에게 힘달라고 기도하고 늦은밤 (이른새벽)에 잠을 청합니다.   새누리 모든분들의 중보기도 부탁드립니다. 매일 숙소를 옮기면서 지친 선교팀의 몸을 빨리 회복시켜 주시고 또 영적싸움에서 밀리지 않도록..   오늘 하루도 승.주.찬을 곳곳에서 외치도록 힘주신 주님께 감사드리며   인도 뉴델리에서 단기선교팀..      

그동안 기도로 준비해 왔던 인도 단기선교가 많은 성도님들의 기도로 순조롭게 시작되었습니다. 서울 인천을 거쳐서 인도 델리공항에 21시간의 비행기 여정에도 불구하고 선교팀모두 건강하게 잘 도착하였고 많은 성도님들이 가져다 주셨던 옷, 책 그리고 장난감등도 세관에서 아무 문제 없이 다 통과 되었습니다.   델리공항에 늦은시간까지 선교팀을 기다려주신 손샘과... 21시간 비행기를 탓음에도 불구하고 모두들 선교지에 도착했다는 기쁨에 피곤한 기색이 전혀 없네요.     다들 2-3시간 밖에 자지 못했지만 정해진 일정에 따라  아침 예배를 마치고 첫번째 사역지인 카시미르주 수도인 스리나가르지역을 향해 다시 비행기를 타고 떠나는 선교팀과 손샘님...     카시미르 지역은 아직도 파키스탄과 영토 분쟁때문에 테러나 총격사건들이 자주 일어나는 지역이라 어느곳이나 군인과 경찰이 항상 총을들고 경계를 하고 있어서 긴장감을 느낄 수 있습니다.     카시미르지역 곳곳에 있는 자마마찌드(모스크)를 밟으며 주님께 기도를 올려드립니다  우상숭배에 찌들어있는 이지역과 이곳의 모든 영혼들이 빨리 주님께 온전히 예배드리는 날이 오기를...      무끄둡사하브(우리의 기도원과 비슷함), 기도할 제목이 있는 사람들이 가서 기도하는 곳이니데 한 무슬렘여성이 안에 있는 사람을 통하여 기도요청을 하고있습니다.   기도 차례를 기다리는 사람들...     하지랏트발 앞에서 만난 몸이 조금 불편한 무슬렘여인을 위해 기도를 해주시는 목사님과 자매님들... 조심스러웠지만 거부감없이 기도를 받으며 꼭 알아들은 것 처럼 아멘으로 응답하네요...     또 그곳에서 만난 젋은 무슬렘여성들과... 이렇게 웃으면서 사진도 같이 찍을 수 있는데 왜 예수님을 직접 공개적으로 전할 수가 없을까.. 안타까울따름입니다. 그런날이 속히 오기를 기도하며..     한국의 7-80년대를 연상케하는 거리의 상점들...      길거리에서 구걸을 하는 무슬렘 여성에게 동전을 전하며 같이 복음을 전하지 못하는게 안타까웠습니다..    하루의 일정을 마치고 숙소에 들어와 기도모임을 하며 이땅의 모든 사람들이 우리 주님을 만날 날이 속히 오도록 기도하며 하루를 마치고 또 내일을 어떤 만남이 있을지 기대가 됩니다.   오늘 하루를 잘 마치도록 인도하신 주님께 감사드립니다.   승 주 찬 !

Hello Family! This is the update for 8/1/18.   Today after praise we learned about Paul and Silas and how we should stay joyful in the midst of suffering. After, we did a craft, a trophy, to show that we are God's #1.           After first session, we played games in teams again- tug-of-war.       At the end of the day, the kids got to perform songs with their classmates. After, we said our goodbyes to the children!         We had a final debrief meeting after VBS and shared our final blessings to each other before we also had to say goodbyes to each other.    Prayer Requests: 1. Safe Travel We are departing tomorrow from Japan to go back to Korea and America. Please pray for safe travels back!   2. Continuation of Mission As we leave Japan, please pray for our mission to continue on while we are back home. We recieved many blessings from this trip, so please pray that we may share them with the rest of our church family to spread the awareness of the greatness of our God! Additionally, please pray that we may continue to pray and think about the children we ministered to while we were here. Please pray that we will continue to remember them throughout the next year, so we may not forget the seeds we have planted during our mission. Lastly, pray for the children that we met during this trip. Since many of them did not attend church before coming to VBS, pray that God will watch over the seed we have planted and carefully work in their lives to bring them to Him.        

This is the update for 7/31/18.   This morning before VBS the entire volunteer team met to discuss the day and pray.   We started off the day with praise and a skit to introduce the messsage. Today's message was about Thomas and his disbelief in God due to his lack of faith in the invisible God.        The youth prepared a body worship to the song 'This I Believe' for the Shibuya kids.   For crafts, the children made megaphones to shout 'Jesus Loves Me!' and also a mosaic cross.           The second session's message was about Jesus' Love for us. The message was a skit called 'The Creatio Skit' that covered the gospel.     After the message the kids played games. Two of the pictured games were the balance relay race with ping pong balls and a bottle-filling replay with beads.       We ended the VBS day with praise once again and the children have gotten comfortable with all the songs!   After VBS, all the volunteers gathered together to discuss blessings we had gotten throughout the day.       Prayer Requests: 1.  Last Day Please pray for our volunteer team for tomorrow as it is the last day of VBS and ministry in Japan. Pray for the final stride that we have to push through for and the readiness for the kids' hearts. Tomorrow we will ask the children for their acceptance of Jesus, so that will come with many things working against us achieving it. Please pray for our strength to work against it and the children's attentivness to it as well.     

Hello! This is the update for 7/30/18.   Today was our first day of VBS at Tokyo Shibuya Evangelical Church.  We started off the day with praise, and the kids quickly were energized by the songs. 오늘은 도교 시부야 복음 교회에서의 VBS 첫날이었습니다. 찬양으로 시작하였는데 아이들이 금방 음악을 듣고 에너지가 넘치게 되었습니다.    After praise, the youth skit team put on a skit about today's message- The Lost Sheep.  찬양후 유스 스킷 팀에서 오늘 메시지인 잃어버린 양에 관한 스킷을 보여줬습니다.        Following the skit, Pastor Soomee preached to the kids on the story about The Lost Sheep; a message about how God cares and longs for every single of them.  스킷 후에는 수미 전도사님께서 아이들에게 잃어버린 양에 대한 이야기를 설교했습니다. 하나님께서 우리 한명한명을 생각하시고 기다리시는 메시지였습니다.        During craft time the kids made basketball kendama-like game and on them wrote 'Jesus Loves Me'.  크래프트 시간에는 아이들은 농구 켄다마와 비슷한 게임을 만들고 그 위에 "Jesus Loves Me" 를 썼습니다.       During lunch time we were able to bond to build relationships with the Shibuya children. 점심시간에는 시부야 어린이 들과 친해질수 있었습니다.         Our second session started after lunch which began with another skit. This skit was about 2 children debating on whether prayer will do anything for their sick friend. This led to the story of Lazarus- specifically God's power in Lazarus. 점심 식사후 두번째 세션은 다른 스킷으로 시작하였습니다. 이번 스킷은 두 어린이가 기도가 아픈 친구를 낫게 해줄수 있을지 다투는 이야기였습니다. 이 이야기는 하님이 능력을 보이신 나사로의 이야기로 이어졌습니다.      We played balloon volleyball and ate otterpops after the message, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. 전도사님의 말씀이 이어지고, 아이스크림을 먹고 풍선으로 배구 게임을 하였는데 아이들이 너무나도 즐거워하였습니다.     We ended the first VBS with praise! By the end of the day the kids were exclaiming "GAME ON!" so passionately. 우리는 VBS 첫날을 찬양으로 마쳤습니다. 하루가 끝나갈 무렵에는 아이들이 "GAME ON!"을 열정을 다해서 외쳤습니다.         Prayer Requests: 1. Earnest Desire for the Lord Our team's first topic of prayer is for the earnest desire for the Lord. Our team is not perfect, and never will be without God. Please pray for a renewed mind and spirit within us to truly drive us to sprint to finish this race. This day, the Youth got together to reconcile our brokenness and drive out the spirit of the darkness that we let creep into us. Please pray for our desire for the Lord to be constant and the fire for Him and eachother be always burning.    우리팀의 첫번째 기도 제목은 하나님을 향한 진실한 열망입니다. 우리팀은 완전 하지 않습니다. 하나님 없이는 완전해 질수 없습니다. 우리의 마음과 영이 새롭게 되어 우리가 이 경주를 마칠수 있도록 우리를 인도하시기를 기도해주세요. 이날 우리 유스는 우리 가운데 깨어진 마음을 새롭게 고치고 우리 안에 들어온 어두운 영을 몰아내고 다시 회복하기 위하여 모였습니다. 주님을 향한 우리의 열정이 지속 되고 하나님과 서로를 향한 열정이 계속 뜨겁게 타오르도록 우리를  위해 기도해 주세요.

Hello Saenuri Family!  This is the update for 7/29/18.   For Shibuya church's Sunday worship, our team sang 'Broken Vessels' for the morning and afternoon worship. 시부야 교회에 일요일 예배를위해서 우리팀이 'Broken Vessels'이라는 노래를 아침와 오후 예배떼 불었습니다.       After Sunday worship, our team ate dinner together and practiced our skits and body worship for the VBS week. 예배후, 저녁 까지 연극와 춤을 열심히 연습했습니다.        Prayer Requests: 1. Triumphal Procession Our team’s first request in prayer is based on 2 Corinthians 2:14. 저희의 첫번째 기도제목은 고린도후서 2장 14절에 의한 것입니다.   “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” 항상 우리를 그리스도 안에서 이기게 하시고 우리를 통해 그리스도를 아는 지식을 곳곳에 향기처럼 퍼지게 하시는 하나님께 감사하는 일들이 오늘 우리에게 함께 하도록 기도해 주세요   Through this verse we are assured that through our faith in Christ, the battle we are fighting will surely end in victory. While we are in the battlefield in Japan, please pray for our members to persevere and keep fighting against the enemy. However, the battle cannot be won with any sort of darkness in our hearts; our battle is to be fought with a weaponless defense— love. Please pray that we will aggressively resist to choose fear over love. 말씀을 붙들고 모든 전쟁이 승리로 끝날것을 확신하는 그리스도 안에서의 믿음이 세워지게 기도해 주세요. 특히 우리 안에 어두움이 틈타지 않도록, 어두움을 허용하지 않도록, 사랑으로 모든 영적 공격을 물리치도록, 두려움을 완전히 쫓아내도록 기도해주세요.       2. Protection The second topic of prayer is for protection. Please pray that our team may be protected against physical things such as sickness and mosquitos. However please pray also for protection against things that are leading us astray from God. Pray for a deeper sensitivity we will have for spiritual battles and attacks and that God will equip us with the materials we need for protection against anything not of Him.   두번째로는 저희를 보호해 주시도록 기도해 주세요. 두통, 복통, 알러지와 벌레물림등등..육체적인 보호 뿐아니라, 주님으로 부터 멀어지게 하는 모든 것으로부터 우리가 영적으로 분명해져 영적전쟁에서 승리 할수 있는 모든 무기들을 다 갖추고 승리하신 주님과 함께 할수 있도록 기도해 주세요

This is the 7/28/18 update.   Today we decorated the Shibuya church for our VBS this week with the help of some Shibuya church members. 오늘은 VBS위해 시부야 맴버들하고 교회를 꾸몄습니다,                After decorating, our church members met the volunteers that were going to team up with us for VBS.  장식을 마친 후에는 시부야 뱀버들하고 서로를 소개하고  VBS 오리엔테이션을 가졌습니다.    Prayer Request: 1. Love The first topic of prayer is for the team's unity. Please pray for the love we will continue to have within this team and with the Shibuya members as well. Please pray for our earnest desire to be more like God, specifically the desire to relentlessly love like Him. Please continue to pray for our team's attitude to be always positive- that we may see God in every situation. Lastly, please pray for our trust in God. Anything we individually do for ourselves will inevitably fail without the help from God, so please pray that every individual in our team will seek God's wisdom and heart to act according to his will and not ours.    첫번째 기도제모은 팀의 연합입니다. 우리 일본팀 안에 그리고 시부야 교인들 안에 주님의 사랑이 계속하여 흐르도록 기도해 주세요. 하나님의 형상을 닮아 가고 특별히 그 분을  무조건적으로 사랑하는 뜨거운 소망을 갖도록 기도해주세요. 또한 우리 팀이 항상 긍정적으로 모든 상황 가운데 하나님을 볼수 있도록 계속 기도해 주세요. 마지막 으로 하나님을 신뢰하도록 기도해 주세요. 우리가 하나님의 도움 없이 하는 모든 일은 어쩔수 없이 실패 합니다. 그러니 우리 팀이 하나님의 지혜와 마음을 구하고 우리의 뜻이 아닌 그 분의 뜻을 따라가도록 기도해주세요   2. Obedience The second prayer of topic is for our team's obedience. Being in Japan means being in a new enviroment, which can cause some uncomfortablness within the team and individual. Please pray that we will see past our discomfort and that we will seek God's face. Additionally, pray for our accountability. Let us be accountable for ourselves and eachother, that we are following nothing but God's desires for us.   두번째 기도는 우리 팀의 순종 입니다. 일본 단기 선교팀에 속하게 된다는 것은 개인적으로도 팀으로서도 불편할수도 있는 전혀 새로운 환경에 처하게 된다는 뜻입니다. 우리가 우리의 불편함을 보지 않고 하나님의 얼굴을 바라보도록 기도해주세요. 또한 우리가 서로를 위해서 희생할수 있도록 기도해주세요. 서로를 위해서 희생하고 오로지 하나님이 원하시는 것만을 따르도록 기도해주세요.
