2025 최강 브라질 아마존 선교 Day 5 > 선교 일지

샬롬 오늘은 브라질 아마존 선교 5일차 이자, 마나우스 동산교회 사역 첫날입니다.

Shalom! Today is the 5th day of the Brazil Amazon mission, and also the first day of ministry at Church in Manaus.

아침 7시부터 일정이 시작 되었습니다. 

졸린 눈을 비비며 동산교회로 가는 버스에 올라타 기도하는 마음으로, 오늘 진행될 VBS 와 의료사역 가운데 하나님의 은혜가 넘치는 자리가 되기를 간절히 바라며 

교회로 향하였습니다.

Our schedule began at 7 a.m.

Rubbing the sleep from our eyes, we boarded the bus to Dongsan Church with hearts full of prayer — earnestly hoping that God’s grace would overflow in today’s VBS and medical ministry.

With that longing, we made our way to the church.

아침부터 선교팀이 오기를 기다린 몇몇 주변 동네 아이들이 벌써부터 교회나와 문 앞에서 선교팀을 반갑게 맞이해 주었습니다. 

Even early in the morning, a few children from nearby neighborhoods — who had been waiting for the mission team — were already in front of the church, joyfully welcoming us as we arrived.

아침 예배와 큐티 묵상으로 하루를 준비하였고. 

예배와 묵상 그리고 기도 가운데 하나님이 힘주시길, 일괄적인 프로그램이지만 모든 아이들과 팀원들에게 새로운 은혜와 기쁨이 있기를. 새로운 회복이 있는 하루가 되길 간절히 기도했습니다.

We prepared for the day with morning worship and quiet time meditation.

Through worship, reflection, and prayer, we asked God to give us strength — and although the program may follow a routine, we sincerely prayed that it would bring fresh grace and joy to every child and every team member.

Above all, we longed for this day to be one of new restoration.

아침 부터 시작 될 VBS와 의료 사역을 위하여 세팅을 마무리 하고 각자 팀은 기도로서

오늘도 만나는 모든 이들로 그리스도의 사랑을 온전히 받고 돌아갈수 있도록

하나님이 부르신 청지기의 삶을 오늘도 이어서 살수있도록 기도하고 마음을 다 잡는 시간을 가졌습니다. 

After finishing the final setup for the VBS and medical ministry that would begin in the morning, each team took time to pray.

We prayed that everyone we would meet today would fully receive the love of Christ and return home touched by His grace.

And we asked God to help us continue living out the life of a steward — one called and entrusted by Him — with faithfulness and a steady heart throughout the day.

드디어 굳게 닫혀있던 교회 문이 열리고 아이들이 들어오기 시작합니다!!

아마존 강변 마을에서 보다 더 많은 아이들이 찾아왔습니다.

At last, the firmly closed church doors opened — and the children began pouring in!

Even more children gathered here than in the riverside villages of the Amazon. The room quickly filled with laughter, energy, and eager hearts, ready to encounter the love of Jesus.

아침부터 의료 사역팀에도 기다리는 환자들로 인산인해를 이루었습니다.

신나는 율동과 찬양은 언제나 아이들에게 인기가 참 많은 시간입니다.

Now, shall we kick off VBS with praise and dance?

This time of energetic songs and choreography is always a favorite among the kids — full of laughter, movement, and joy.

Even though the mission team was tired and worn out, during VBS praise time, it was as if all the fatigue vanished — and with full hearts, we worshiped God with joy and enthusiasm.

찬양과 율동 후에는 역시 황목사님의 설교시간!

오늘은 지난 아마존 VBS와 동일한 오병이어의 말씀으로 시작하였습니다.

After the time of praise and the Word, it was time for Pastor Hwang’s sermon — a much-anticipated part of the day!

Today’s message began with the same theme as the previous Amazon VBS: the story of the five loaves and two fish.

이어지는 크레프트 시간!

아이들이 더 많아서 인가, 모든 선교팀원들이 투입 되어 아이들을 도와 재미있는 만들기 시간도 가졌습니다.

Next came craft time!

Perhaps because there were even more children than before, every mission team member jumped in to help — turning the session into a lively and fun-filled time as the kids enjoyed making their creations together.

같은 시간 아랫층 의료사역팀도 사역을 시작하였습니다.

진료와 치료후 기도와 복음전함도 개을리 하지 않았습니다.

At the same time, downstairs, the medical mission team also began their ministry.

With hearts full of compassion, they started caring for patients — offering not just medical treatment, but also prayer and the love of Christ to each person they served. Of course, after each consultation and treatment, we didn’t neglect to pray and share the gospel.

Every patient was not only cared for physically, but also spiritually — as we took time to lift them up in prayer and lovingly share the good news

의료사역팀의 사역들이 보다 다시 2층으로 올라 갔었을때

아이들이 좋아하는 게임시간이 진행 되고 있었습니다.

Watching the medical ministry team at work, I went back up to the second floor,

where the children were enjoying their favorite game time.

Laughter and excitement filled the room as the kids played and bonded together.

아마존 강변 마을에서도 인기가 있었던 림보!

선생님들의 시범 후 바로 아이들의 웃음소리와 함께 시작되었습니다.

The limbo game, which was popular back in the Amazon riverside village, was brought out once again!

After the teachers demonstrated how to play, the children immediately jumped in — their laughter and cheers filling the room as the fun began.

그렇게 야심차게 준비했던 림보가 끝나고, 바로 다음게임인 꼬깔콘 쓰고 반환점 돌아오기

처음 선보이는 게임이였음에도 제가 하고 싶을 정도로 재밌었던 게임이였습니다,

After the eagerly prepared limbo game came to an end, we moved right into the next game: wearing party hats and racing back before turning around.

Even though it was the first time this game was introduced, it was so much fun that I almost wanted to join in myself!

그렇게 2개의 재밌는 게임으로 온몸의 진이 다 빠질때 쯤 

간식타임!!

바로, 오병이어 하면 생각나는 그 음식

팝콘!!

By the time we were completely worn out from those two fun games,

it was snack time!!

And of course, when you think of the five loaves and two fish,

the perfect snack is... popcorn!!

오전사역을 팝콘과 함께 끝내보도록 하고, 잠시 모여 VBS팀과 의료팀의 오후 사역도 잘 하나님에 뜻 안에 이루어 질수 있도록 

기도하였습니다.

We wrapped up the morning ministry with popcorn, then gathered briefly to pray —

asking that both the VBS team and the medical team’s afternoon ministries would be carried out well, according to God’s will.

그렇게 1시간? 정도 휴식을 취한 후, 다시 신나는 댄스로 시작하였습니다.

댄스가 다 끝나고 이어지는 설교말씀은 다윗가 골리앗의 이야기 였습니다

이상하리 만큼 가는 어느곳 마다 아이들이 그 큰 골리앗을 하나님의 도움으로 이길수 있다는 고백이 늘 나왔습니다

After the dance ended, the sermon that followed was the story of David and Goliath.

Interestingly, wherever we went, many of the kids confidently said they believed they could defeat the giant Goliath — a bold and inspiring spirit to see!

골리앗은 역시 연전 연패!! 그리고 영원히 고통받는 준원형제!

자 이제 다시 신나는 게임 타임!

오늘은 특별히 아이들이 많아 다치진 않을까 걱정도 했지만

게임팀의 완벽한 진행이 아무도 다치치 않고 즐겁게 하나님을 즐겼습니다

같은 시각 의료 사역 팀에서는 여전히 계속 되는 진료와 밀려오는 환자들로 사투를 버리고 있었습니다.

그럼에도 그냥 돌아가시려는 환자분들을, 만사를 제처놓고 달려가 잡아 복음과 기도를 해드릴 정도였습니다.

t the same time, the medical mission team was still tirelessly battling through continuous consultations and treatments.

Despite the exhaustion, their commitment to prayer never wavered — putting everything else aside to run toward God in prayer whenever needed.

진료실 상황이 정리되어 다시 2층을 취재하러 올라 가 봅시다!!

낙하산 게임을하고 있었네요!

어쩐지 1층에서 시끄럽다 했더니 ㅎㅎ

With the clinic work wrapped up, let’s head back upstairs to check out what’s happening!

Looks like they’re playing the parachute game!

No wonder it was so noisy downstairs — haha!

자 이제 낙하산 게임을 마무리 하고, 바로 두번째 게임인 접시 뒤집기가 시작 되었습니다.

게임을 향한 열정은 아이들로 하여금 서로의 승부욕을 자극시켰는데요

우어.. 역시 브라질이 이런건가?  어린 아이의 아이들임에도 이기겠다는 모습들을 보는것 조차 즐거웠습니다.

Now that the parachute game has wrapped up, we moved straight into the second game — the plate flipping challenge!

Fueled by pure excitement, the kids dove into the game with intense energy and competitiveness from the very start.

Wow… is this just how Brazil is? Even though some games seemed a bit tricky for younger children, their passion made it all incredibly fun to watch — you couldn’t help but smile!

After VBS came to an end, we stayed with the children who were waiting for their parents — spending those extra moments together, building even more meaningful memories.

Even in the quiet after the crowd, joy remained as we laughed, talked, and simply shared time.

하루의 사역을 마무리 하며 사용했던 용품들이나, 바닥에 떨어저 더러워진 바닥을 청소하고 하나님께 감사의 예배를 드렸습니다.

As we wrapped up the day’s ministry, we took time to clean — putting away the materials we had used and scrubbing the dirtied floors.

And with hearts full of gratitude, we ended the day by offering a thanksgiving worship to God, giving Him all the glory for what He had done.

먼저는 오늘 사역을 잘 마칠수 있게 해주심에 감사의 기도를 

두번째는 하나님이 사랑하신 이 땅 마나우를 위한 구원과 은혜를 이땅의 민족들이 잘 경험할수 있도록

마지막으로 선교팀 서로를 격려하며 응원해주는 우리 모두가 되길 기도하였습니다

First, we gave thanks in prayer for allowing us to complete today’s ministry well.

Second, we prayed that the people of Manaus — a land so deeply loved by God — would truly experience His salvation and grace.

And finally, we prayed that all of us would continue to encourage and uplift one another, growing stronger together as one team in Christ.

내일은 주일입니다.

이 지역은 날씨 때문인지 저녁에 예배를 드립니다.

그래서 VBS 와 의료사역은 오전 동안만 진행하게 됩니다.

또한 내일은 특별히 거리 노방 전도를 다니게 됩니다. 내일도 이어질 비가오는 날씨에 지치지 않고 하나님께서 주시는 힘으로 말미암아

하나님께서 허락하신 이들을 만나게 하시고, 또 그 만남가운데 그리스도의 이름이 선포되어지는 놀라운 역사가 일어날수 있도록 기도 부탁 드립니다.

그럼 모두 내일 뵈요~!!!

Tomorrow is Sunday.
In this region, possibly due to the weather, worship services are held in the evening.

Therefore, in the morning, both the VBS and medical teams will continue their ministry, but only during the first half of the day.

Also, tomorrow holds something special — we will be going out for street evangelism.
Please pray that, despite the ongoing heat and rain, we will not grow weary but be strengthened by the power that comes from God.

Pray that we may encounter the people whom God has already prepared, and that through those divine meetings, the name of Christ will be boldly proclaimed — so that a powerful work of salvation and grace may take place.
