Today was our very last day serving in the Philippines. Many of us felt a mixture of excitement and regret. On the one hand we were going to be reunited with our family and friends soon. On the other hand, we were sad that we were leaving our new friends and leaving a place where we were allowed to focus on serving God without life's constant distractions.

 

Thank you to the many team members who contributed photographs to today's post. Today's VBS programs were located in a church far away from the medical and dental ministries and I was unable to take pictures while serving with the dental team.

 

Today's devotional passage was 2 Chronicles 6:1-11

 

Today's memory verse was Proverbs 21:31

 

We started the day with a short unplanned praise session and some messages from the Pastors.

 

 

 

We then headed over to a nearby barangay to serve one last time.

 

 

 

 

After the morning program, we headed to Malajog Leisure Park Resort for lunch and some fun on the beach!

 

 

 

And to our delight, Sister Gabby, Sister Stella, and Brother Joowon got baptized!

 

 

 

Thank you Pastor Daniel and Ruth SMN for providing us with shelter, guidance, and amazing food. Without you two there would not have been a Philippines Mission!

 

 

 

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at SICAP. Without you the trip would have grounded to a halt. You prayed with us, helped set up our equipment, translated for us, escorted us through the city, provided meals and water, and became our buddies. You always smiled and never complained! It was an inspiration to work with you. We will miss you all so much!

After many tearful goodbyes we prepared to head out of SICAP. Even moving all the luggage to the vans became an example of teamwork!

 

 

 

Of course we cannot leave without a couple group photos.

 

 

 

Every morning God prepared us for the new day, but everything we did was through God, because of God, and ultimately for God.

 

"The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord." - Proverbs 21:31 (ESV)

Please pray for God's mercy as we spend over a day traveling back home by bus and planes.
