I was watching a talk with Peter Hitchens. For those of you who may not be familiar with Peter Hitchens, he is the brother of the late Christopher Hitchens who was an infamous neo-atheist.  Unlike his brother, Peter is a devout Christian.  Christopher and Peter are like the modern Cain and Abel.

It was fascinating and disturbing world to see how we have fallen so far.  Toward the end, a homosexual man suggests that we make abortion MANDATORY for 30 years to control the population.  I expect that kind of hate talk from left liberal man, however, the saddest thing to see was that an audience full of women/mothers were laughing and applauding at the suggestion the mandatory killing of their own unborn babies. Now I understand this week's verse, Matt. 16:24-25, really means by denying ourselves.  We are so sinful that we will laugh and applaud at the idea of mass killing of our babies.  Only by shedding our true sinful selves, can we hoped to follow Jesus.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

At least, Peter Hitchens reminded everyone that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will be the final judgement at the end.
