My heart goes out to those immigrats who suffering from the true poverty.  However, the emphasis here is "true poverty" .  1 Tim 5:3-6 teaches us that we should be generous, but to those who truly in need by compariing the true poverty to a "widow".  Whether it is church, social justice, or government programs, we should consider the consequences brought upon by impulsive conclusions and actions.  By ignoring actual facts and biblical teaching, we can be deceived by redirecting our efforts and resources to wrong projects and ignore those who are truly in need.  More importantly, we spent all our resources to social justice which is temporary, but forsake the true gospel that is eternal.  As Jesus said in Matt. 26:11 "For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me".

Below video with facts and examples (not just feelings) shows the true impact of the "feeling" based immigration.

There was an extenstive study done (I can't seem to find that study) by an university research team comparing countries where the trul gospel has been proclaimed vs social justice programs has been implemented.  In a long run, countries where gospel has been preached had significant improvement to the life style where social justice programs only provided temporary gains with no long lasting impact.  In fact, the corruption increases with social justice programs.

I will find the study and link it as well.
